Hi, I’m Emily

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Thriving Hearts Therapy in Utah.

I earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University in 2019. My professional journey took on profound new meaning when my son was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect, leading me to experience firsthand the complex emotions of grief, hope, and the challenges of balancing them while managing daily life as a mother.

Witnessing the lack of support for parents of medically complex children, I became committed to addressing this void. I created Thriving Hearts Therapy to offer a compassionate space where individuals can openly share their struggles and find healing.

I am deeply committed to helping others find hope and fulfillment despite life’s challenges. I invite you to reach out to explore how I can support you on your unique journey forward.

My Clinical Approach

The primary goal of my work is to create a safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and valued. It's one thing to sit and think about your struggles alone, but when you begin to share them out loud, your story starts to shift outside of you and you can find healing within yourself. There is power in sharing, and I am passionate about creating a space where you feel safe and supported to do just that. I see your strengths and believe in working collaboratively in therapy. You are the expert in your own life and together we can help you find the confidence to embrace your next steps to change.

I use a combination of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and tailor our work to fit your unique needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and I'm committed to finding what resonates most for you.

The majority of my work is focused on supporting adults through a range of challenges, including anxiety, self-esteem issues, depression, trauma, grief & loss, perinatal & postpartum concerns, & life transitions. I am trained in perinatal mental health and am deeply aware of the challenges that accompany pregnancy, childbirth, and the transition into parenthood.
