Deciding whether you need therapy can be a deeply personal decision, and it’s often helpful to reflect on a few key questions:
Are you feeling overwhelmed or stuck? If you’re struggling with persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or stress that seem unmanageable, therapy can provide support and strategies to help you cope.
Are you facing challenges in your relationships or daily life? Therapy can be beneficial if you’re having trouble with communication, conflict resolution, or if you’re experiencing significant life changes or transitions.
Have you tried other methods to improve your situation? If you’ve tried self-help strategies, talking with friends or family, or other resources without the relief you need, therapy might offer a different approach and deeper insights.
Do you want to explore your thoughts and feelings more deeply? Therapy can help you gain a better understanding of yourself, your behaviors, and your emotions, leading to personal growth and self-awareness.
Ultimately, therapy is a tool for personal growth and support. It’s not just for crises or mental health conditions—it can be valuable for anyone seeking to enhance their well-being. If you’re considering it, contact us to schedule a free phone consultation today!

Research has shown that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. The therapeutic techniques and interventions used in online settings are often the same as those used face-to-face.
For some, the comfort of being at home and the added privacy of an online session can make it easier to open up and engage in the therapeutic process. Meeting virtually, offers so much accessibility; you can join during nap time, your lunch break, between classes, or while your kids watch a show.
It’s important to ensure you have a reliable internet connection and a private, quiet space for your sessions. Technical issues can occasionally disrupt the flow of therapy, but these are usually manageable.
Important note: online therapy is not suitable for those who have recently been discharged from in-patient treatment, those who are actively suicidal or have a serious history of suicidal behavior, those who experience severe disassociation, and those who need crisis treatment.

A free phone consultation serves several important purposes and can be a valuable first step in the therapy process.
Understanding Your Needs: The consultation gives us a chance to discuss the issues you're facing and your goals for therapy. This helps me understand what you’re looking for and whether my approach aligns with your needs.
Assessing Fit: It's an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me as a therapist. The therapeutic relationship is crucial for effective therapy, so it’s important that you feel at ease and supported.
Explaining Therapy: I can provide information about how therapy works, including my methods, what you might expect in sessions, and any logistics like scheduling, fees, or confidentiality. This helps you know what to expect and how to prepare.
Answering Questions: It’s a time for you to ask any questions you have about the therapy process, my qualifications, or anything else that’s on your mind. This helps ensure that you have the information you need to make an informed decision.
Determining Next Steps: Based on our conversation, we can discuss whether it makes sense to proceed with regular therapy sessions or if there might be other resources or referrals that could better meet your needs.
The goal of the free phone consultation is to ensure that both you and I have a clear understanding of what’s needed and to make sure that therapy is a good fit before committing to ongoing sessions.
